国際ゾンタ

国際ゾンタは奉仕と支援を通して全世界の女性の地位向上のために活動する世界的な社会奉仕団体です。
1919年11月8日にアメリカ合衆国ニューヨーク州バッファローにおいて設立されました。
世界63ケ国に1,200以上のクラブがあり、約29,000人の会員で運営されています。
ゾンタクラブの会員は、世界的な友好を通して理解・親善・平和の促進のために共に助け合い、女性の平等の権利、政治的な均等、教育と健康の享受、女性と子供に対する暴力の根絶など、国際ゾンタが提唱するプロジェクトを支援するために活動します。
日本のゾンタクラブは、東京Ⅰゾンタクラブが1961年（世界で16番目の国として加盟）に国際ゾンタから認証されて57年が経ちました。
世界32地区エリアの中、日本は26地区に属し、木下彰子ガバナー（北九州ゾンタクラブ）のもと全国に50クラブ（2018年12月現在）が活躍しています。

国際会長

Susanne von Bassewitz is President of Zonta International and Zonta International Foundation. Before starting her own consultancy, she held leadership positions at major international corporations for 23 years. Her responsibilities were corporate communications with brand management, corporate identity and change communications as areas of focus. Prior to this, she conducted university research on mass communications.

Susanne has been a Zontian since 1994 and is a member of the Zonta Club of Düsseldorf II, Germany. She was elected 2016-2018 President-Elect and 2014-2016 Vice President. She served as Public Relations and Communications Committee Chairman from 2012-2014, International Director from 2010-2012, Area Director from 2006-2008, Vice Area Director from 2004-2006, and District Nominating Committee Chairman from 2000- 2002.

Susanne holds a Master’s degree and Ph.D. in mass communications research, Roman languages and philosophy. In addition to her professional endeavors and involvement with Zonta International, she is a frequent lecturer at German universities, where she presents seminars on communications management and other topics. Her personal interests include reading, music and tennis, and she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
